Connie Arlette Black, 82, passed away at her home on Monday, January 13, 2025. Born in Minot, North Dakota on April 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Emma Martha Staal Fjeld.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Cleo Fjeld.
Connie is survived by her son, Robert Black; daughter, Melody Black; grandson, Levi Black and wife, Kelly; great-granddaughter, Adeline Black; and sister, Florene Knudtson.
In years past, Connie worked as a truck driver with Minot Paving, as a nurse’s aide, and most recently with the Lenoir County Landfill. She proudly served as a Boy Scout leader, watching her grandson Levi earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
Connie enjoyed the simple things in life. She could often be found with a book in hand reading a novel or listening to her favorite Country and Western tunes. Connie relished time spent outdoors in nature, especially if she was camping with her family.
Connie will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family and friends dearly.
A service to celebrate Connie’s life will be held at a later date in North Dakota.
