Beverly McDaniel, 86, Minot, died Friday December 27, 2024 in a Minot Hospital.
Beverly “Bev” Brostrom was born September 20, 1938 in Minot, North Dakota to parents Raymond and Pearl (Helgesen). Bev remained in Minot through her upbringing and attended local schools, until graduating from Minot High School in 1956. While in high school, she worked part time at Broten Lumber. Bev continued working here until 1959. She married Carl McDaniel in June of 1959 in Minot.
Bev and Carl resided in Waldo, FL and Alachua, FL where they raised their three children. They purchased acreage south of Minot in 1981 and moved there in 1983 with their children. Bev was a stay-at-home Mom during her children’s school years. Bev began working as a Manager at the Salvation Army in Minot and continued there for 9 years. She also assisted Carl in the operations of Charlebois Welding for 6 years until retiring when the business closed in 1991.
In her free time, Beverly enjoyed reading, sewing, and baking. She especially enjoyed tending to her apple and grape orchards. She was a member of West Minot Church of God in Minot and attended First Assembly of God (now Journey Church) regularly.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Pearl, husband Carl and brother David Brostrom.
She is survived by her children Loir (Andrea) McDaniel of Street, MD, Jan (Rod) Hansen of Minot, and Carla (Christopher) Ware of Nottingham, MD; siblings Barbara Freyer of Minot, Wayne (Marilyn) Brostrom of Bismarck, and Lynwood (Julie) Brostrom of Peachtree City, GA; seven grandchildren Alyssa (Kyle) Spokely, Joelle McDaniel, Aaron (Sarah) Hansen, Josh McDaniel, Jared McDaniel, Joel Ware and Claire Ware; three great-grandchildren Gabriel and Grayson Spokely, and Brielle Hansen along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Visitation: Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the West Minot Church of God.
