Anita Hoffer, 72, Minot, ND, died Monday, January 20, 2025, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Anita Rae Carlson was born March 29, 1952, the daughter of Raymond and Irene (Nordrum) Carlson, in Kenmare, ND. She was raised near Kenmare on the family farm and educated in Kenmare, graduating from Kenmare High School on May 29, 1970.
Following high school, she worked at Beauty Nook Salon in Kenmare. Later she became a cook at the Sheridan Hotel and the Parker Hotel.
She married Loren Hoffer in August 1975. They made their home in Minot and were blessed with three sons, Darren, Derrick, and Devan. Anita worked at Minot Commission on Aging as the Meals on Wheels Coordinator for the majority of her working years. She then worked at Trinity Nursing Home in the dietary department followed by Dakota Square Marketplace Deli before retiring in 2015.
She was a member of Our Redeemer’s Church of Minot and a former member of First Baptist Church of Kenmare.
She enjoyed cooking and baking with family. Family was incredibly important to Anita. She loved spending time with the family and attending her kids and grandkids events. As well as fishing with the family. Anita was a talented musician and played piano for First Baptist Church for many years.
Her loving family includes: husband, Loren; children, Darren Hoffer, Derrick (Heidi) Hoffer, Devan Hoffer; grandchildren, Kolby Hoffer, Abigail Hoffer, Hallie Hoffer; brother, Kenneth (Colleen) Carlson; sisters, Alice Carlson, Ann (Doug Bialke) Steiner; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kermit Carlson.
Funeral: Tuesday, January 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer’s Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Visitation: Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: are preferred to Minot Commission on Aging.
