Ronald K. Brandt Sr, age 91 of Upham, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at a Minot hospital. His funeral will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Upham. Visitation will be on Thursday starting at 1:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Ronald was born in McHenry County on November 15th 1933, to Henry and Cora (Grondahl) Brandt, and grew up on the family farm in Upham, ND with his six siblings. He attended Upham Public School. On February 19th, 1965 he married the love of his life Diana (Brandt) Reiner. With this union they were blessed with seven children.

Ronald had many careers which included working the in the oil fields, trucking, and farming. His favorite was riding the highways in a semi, traveling the United States as far south as Florida and the east and west coasts, with many trips to Duluth, MN and Superior, WI. He worked for Gravel Products for 30 years. He finished out his career with North Agronomy 14 at the age of 85.

He enjoyed riding his palomino “Sisco”, car racing, riding broncs, and playing his accordion.

Ronald was a lifetime member of the Bloomfield/New Hope Lutheran Church where he served on the council and was also a member of the B&U Rodeo Club. He lived out his remaining years at the farm and had recently celebrated his 91st birthday.

He is survived by his wife Diana of almost 60 years; daughters, Debbie Reiner (Craig) Brandt, Patty Reiner (Mark) Manning, Rhonda (Todd) Wickman, Deana (Brian) Tranby, Donna (Steve) Nelson; sons, Ronald

Brandt Jr. (Carolyn), John Brandt; grandchildren, Theresa (Lance) Barton, Melissa (Kyle) Burckhard, Matthew (Anna) Manning, Robert (RaeAnn) Manning, Michael Manning, Katie Manning, Jacob Wickman, Jessica (Mark) Fitzpatrick, Jed Wickman, Jamie (Adam) Jernigan, Ryan (Michelle) Tranby, Chantel Tranby, Evan Nelson, Adam Nelson, Nathan (Cassie) Brandt, Shawn Brandt, Nora Brandt, Jayden Brandt, 22 great

grandchildren. Sister, Lana (Galen) Best and sister-in-law Beverly Brandt, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cora; brothers, Sherman, Jerry, Dale and Wesley; sister, Lois Degner; Granddaughter, Abbey Tranby; Great Grandson, Walker Jernigan; Great Granddaughter, Lillian Jernigan.
