Martin Heintz, 91 of Rugby died Friday, December 6, 2024 in Balta, ND. He was born on March 19, 1933 to Ludwig and Christina (Keller) Heintz in Rugby, ND. Martin was raised in the Blumenfeld, McHenry County home of his parents. On December 9, 1954, he was inducted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on September 17, 1956. Martin was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rose Axtman on October 14, 1958 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Balta. Martin is survived by his sons, Curtis Heintz (Claudia Hall) of Rugby and Martin Jr. (Terrie) Heintz of Balta; grandchildren, Brittany (Dave) Kramer of Balta and Cody (Molly) Heintz of Rugby; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Theresa Striefel of Great Falls, Montana. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 12 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby and burial with full military honors in the church cemetery followed by lunch at the church. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary, vigil prayer service and sharing beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby.
