Marlin Jacobson, 92, Bowbells, ND, died Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Kenmare Hospital.
Marlin D. Jacobson was born one mile east of Niobe, ND, on his grandparent’s Westergren farm on June 6, 1932, to John and Vera (Westergren) Jacobson.
He grew up on his parents’ farm southwest of Coteau, ND. He attended school in Coteau, where he played basketball and football. He graduated a Coteau Elk in 1951.
After high school he worked in construction, helping to build the Coteau elevator. He worked for the State Highway Department and sold shoes at JCPenney in Minot.
On October 8, 1953, he married Pauline Hermansen in Bowbells. To this union four children were born, Gregory, Judy, Wayne, and Lee.
He began farming in 1953 and retired in 2004. He continued to help his son, Wayne, farm for many years after his retirement.
He was a member of Bowbells United Methodist Church.
His loving family includes: wife of 71 years, Pauline; children, Judy (Perry) Bohl, Bismarck, Wayne (Diana) Jacobson, Bowbells; grandchildren, Shayla (Jeff) Evink, Bismarck, ND, Bryce (Jenae) Bohl, Berthoud, CO; Amy (Eric) Anderson, Niobe, ND; Eric (Bria) Jacobson, Fargo, ND; Joy Jacobson (fiancé, Ted Calvin), Austin, TX; great-grandchildren, Brinley and Briar Evink, Eli, Ayla, Emet, and Anly Anderson, Henrik and Hazel Jacobson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vera Jacobson; sons, Greg Jacobson and Lee Jacobson; brothers, Lyman and Carlton Jacobson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Josie Hermansen.
Funeral: Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowbells United Methodist Church, Bowbells.
Interment: Bowbells Cemetery, Bowbells, ND.
Memorials: are preferred to Bowbells Park and Rec and Bowbells Cemetery.
