Garry L. Heizelman, 83, Minot, died Sunday, December 8, 2024 in a Minot hospital.

Garry LeRoy Heizelman was born on July 8, 1941, a son of Ferdinand and Pauline (Scheufele) Heizelman in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in the Velva/Sawyer area. Following his education, Garry worked for area farmers.

On July 23, 1961, Garry was united in marriage to Gloria E. Smith. They made their home in Minot, where Garry worked in the construction business. He worked for Mattson Construction, Park Construction and Rolac Construction companies, retiring in 2006. Garry was a devoted caretaker to his wife Gloria until her passing in 2019.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and going for drives around the countryside.

Garry is survived by:

Three sons: Gerald Heizelman, Grant (Sheryl) Heizelman, Glenn Heizelman; two grandchildren: Cody and Wyatt; one brother: Ronald (Patricia) Heizelman; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 58 years Gloria, sisters, Judy Bachmeier, Ardis Aasen, Janice Knippleberg, and two brothers Orville Heizelman and Lloyd Dietrich.

Visitation: Tuesday, December 17, 2024, one hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot

Funeral Service: Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
