Minot

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wesley Brandt on October 31, 2024.

Wesley was a man cherished for his adventurous spirit, generosity, humor, and exceptional technical skill. Born on November 24, 1953, in Fargo, ND, he spent a life full of passions and purpose. On his 21st birthday in 1974, he married Jackie (Nason) Brandt in Minot, and together they built a life of love, family, and fifty years of shared memories.

An avid outdoorsman, Wesley loved hunting, fishing, and camping, often sharing these experiences with his children, grandchildren, and friends. He had a need for speed, enjoying the thrill of racing cars, and a creative side, crafting beautiful stained-glass artwork that brought joy to those who saw it.

Wesley was a talented mechanic, able to fix almost anything from small engines to complex industrial equipment. With patience and skill, he approached every project as an opportunity to help others, often lending a hand to anyone in need.

Wesley was preceded in death by his father Harley, his mother Helma, his sister-in-law Susan (Palm) Brandt, and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie; his son Wesley Jr.; his son Alan and his partner Veronika; his daughter Shelley (Brandt) Thurow and her husband Chris Thurow; his brother Russell; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Wesley’s life will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home with a time of sharing at 5 p.m. The family kindly invites all who attend to bring stories and memories of Wesley to share, as we come together to honor his remarkable life.
