Nancy and her family moved to Williston, North Dakota when Montgomery Wards Store transferred her father for work. She was one of three daughters.
Nancy lived in Williston until age 18, where she met her best friend and the love of her life, Bruce William Anderson. They moved to Minot, North Dakota so Bruce could finish his college education. Here they welcomed their first child, a baby boy Jason Arthur Anderson. After Bruce completed his education, they moved to Grenora, North Dakota, where he taught and coached. Nancy welcomed her second child, a baby girl, Michelle Marie Anderson. While living there for 6 years Nancy met exceptionally good friends.
The next move was to Surrey, North Dakota, where they lived for 10 years, and then moved back to Minot, North Dakota for 26 years. Nancy worked for Trinity Medical Center for 20+ years before retiring. Nancy was continually active in her community and loved being with her family and friends. She loved to play golf, read books with her book club friends, and play card games. Nancy and Bruce loved their Camaro rides where they would end up at her favorite place, Dairy Queen.
Their next adventure began in 2014 when Bruce and Nancy moved to Meridian, Idaho to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They built a house that they were so proud of and loved, making lifelong new friends in Meridian, ID. If she was not with Bruce, she was with her friends, trying out new restaurants, shopping, playing card games, or just visiting. Nancy and Bruce loved Idaho and all it had to offer they loved taking their RV camper around Idaho enjoying the beautiful outdoors, just being together.
Nancy loved talking to her older sister Carol, they shared the love of the Young and the Restless and would discuss it daily along with sharing books and gifts they would mail to each other. Nancy also loved talking and keeping up with Bruce’s sisters Karen and Gail.
Nancy and Bruce were active members of their church, Friendship Celebration Lutheran Church. Nancy was in many ministries but particularly loved the quilting and caring ministries. Giving her time and caring for others was so important to Nancy. She was a selfless person. She had a deep faith and belief in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We know that she is in heaven with her beloved husband Bruce.
Nancy “Nana” loved all six of her grandchildren with all her heart, one grandson Christian, and five granddaughters, Livia, Katelyn, Taylor, Brielle, and Grace. Nancy was often helping chauffeur her grandkids to sporting events, watching sporting/school events, many for sleepovers, playing any kind of games, taking them shopping, and had daily phone calls with her grandson, Christian about sports.
Nancy is survived by her two children Jason (Yvonne) Anderson, and Michelle (Rich) Huck, her sister Carol Fischer, and her six grandchildren Livia, Christian, Katelyn, Taylor, Brielle, and Grace. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Bruce, father James Shaw, and her mother Winnona Shaw and her youngest sister Theresa Lynn.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later time along with the burial at the Meridian Cemetery where Nancy will be laid to rest with the love of her life Bruce and their two dogs Tuffy and Bogey. Nancy chose to be laid to rest here because they loved celebrating the 4th of July and loved watching the fireworks which would go over the cemetery.
