Mabel “Babe” Farroh, 98, long time Minot resident, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, in her home.
She was born a twin on January 14, 1926 in Williston to C.W. Halphides. She graduated from Williston High School in 1944 and then was employed at Mercy Hospital. She married Walter Farroh May 26, 1945.
They lived in Richmond, Virginia while Walter served in the Navy. They later moved to Grenora, where they started an automotive repair business. In 1947, they moved to Minot where they founded Farroh Construction and then in 1957 started Farroh Roof Truss Company, the first company of its kind in North Dakota. After retirement, they spent the winters in Phoenix, Arizona.
Babe is survived by her son Steve and his wife Karin; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Luke; brother, Kenneth and his wife Georgian.
Babe was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; daughter, Vicki; brothers, Ray, Al, Mark, Clarence, her twin Charles, and her sister, Evalyn.
Graveside service for immediate family will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot. Memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army, local chapter.
