Larry Norstedt, 80, Dickinson, ND, formerly of Minot, ND, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson.

Larry Wayne Norstedt was born March 1,1944 in Powers Lake, ND to Reuben and Gladys (Arnold) Norstedt along with his twin sister, Loretta. He was raised in Stanley and attended grade school there. The family later moved to Minot, and he graduated from Minot Model High School. After high school, he attended Minot College and received an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting. He worked at Miracle Mart Grocery Store for many years.

In 1984, he married Pam Nelson of Manfred. During their married life, Larry managed apartments and motels in the Southwest United States. He loved to travel and wanted to travel when he was younger instead of being old and retired to travel, so he and Pam traveled all over the area. In 1994, they moved to Minot and welcomed their son Lloyd in 1995. Then, in 1998 they moved to Harvey.

Larry loved being a father and enjoyed seeing his son grow up. After Larry and Pam divorced he moved around North Dakota, Montana, and Minnesota. He always managed to land on his feet wherever he went. He landed in Dickinson in recent years and enjoyed the weather and the town. Larry enjoyed talking to and getting to know strangers. He would often park himself on a bench at any mall and people would sit down and tell him their troubles. He would come back and remark on their stories and how it made him appreciate his own. He always requested newspapers from anywhere his friends and relatives went so he could read the news. He was a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and was overjoyed that they won the World Series in 2024. His favorite breed of dog was the pug, and he had multiple pugs as companions throughout his life.

Larry leaves behind his son, Lloyd, of Bismarck; twin sister, Loretta Joern of Minot; brother, Allen Norstedt of Minot; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Doris Walhaug, Dorothy Hovda Corpron, and Marjorie Ostdahl.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Memorial Service: Monday, November 25, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Inurnment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.
