Francis Schiele, 90, Drake, ND, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, in his home.
Francis was born January 7, 1934, the son of Ludwig and Katherine (Richter) in Rugby. He was raised in Drake at the family farm, where he lived and worked his entire life. Francis attended country school for a few years before going to Karlsruhe High School.
Francis married Arlene Leier in Balfour, ND, on October 10, 1956. They were blessed with four children, Wanda, Clyde, Kermit, and Lynn.
Francis was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Drake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing card games with friends and family, and cruising around the farm on his lawn mower.
His loving family includes: wife of 68 years, Arlene; children, Wanda (Tim) Martin, Washburn, Clyde (Mary) Schiele, Surrey, Kermit (Tammy) Schiele, Minot, and Lynn (Susan) Schiele, Minot;
grandchildren, Travis (Kayla) Martin, Amber (Jason), Bruner, Corey, Carley, and Kayle Schiele, Hannah (Randy) Volk, Samantha (Landen) Lelm, Jacob Schiele, and Kelsey (Bryan) Phillips and Tonya (Mike) Schaffner; great-grandchildren, Hazel, Kinsley, and Hunter Martin, Carter and Sydney Bruner, Layton and Skeeter Lelm, Cambree, Emelia, and soon to be baby boy Phillips, and Sawyer Schaffner; brother, Louie (Rita) Schiele; sisters, Rose Bischof, and Magdaline Mack.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant great granddaughter Shelby Bruner; brothers, Michael, Jerome, Henry, and Infant brother Nicholas; sisters, Anna Marie Mack, Elizabeth Volk, and Cecilia Kramer.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, November 22, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe.
Interment: St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe, ND.
Visitation: Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe.
Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday at 7 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe.
