Ferne’s career was marked by a profound commitment to education. She embarked on her teaching journey at Minot Business College and continued to shape young minds in Souris, ND, and later at Alexander School, ND, until her retirement, accumulating over two decades of service. Travel was a significant part of her life, exploring new places via motorcycle, RV, or car with her husband, Don.

A celebration of Ferne’s life is planned for the summer of 2025, with details to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice, or honoring Ferne’s support for various animal rescues and cancer research. Ferne’s legacy of kindness, education, and boundless curiosity will be remembered by all who knew her.
