Deborah Ann (Jensen) Helland, 57, Minot, ND, passed away peacefully Friday, November 15, 2024, with her family by her side.

Deborah Ann Jensen was born January 22, 1967, the daughter of Harold and Bobby (DeVine) Jensen-Hemish, in Mitchell, SD. She graduated from Hamlin High School in 1985.

From her first marriage, Deb was blessed with two children, Andrew and Wendy. Deb met David Helland in 1993 at the cafe Deb owned in Hazel, SD. Deb and David were married on July 2, 1993, and again on August 14, 1993. They were blessed with a son, Benjamin. Deb and Dave made their home in Minot.

Deb and Dave became members of Christ Lutheran Church where she became active in many aspects of the church. She was known to decorate throughout the church. She served as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, Confirmation mentor, and CLCW president. She was active in women’s events such as the Fall Social and Spring Bouquet. Deb also served on the Western North Dakota Synod Candidacy Committee and the Camp Metigoshe Board.

Deb was employed at Scheels, a relocation company called, Dwellworks, provided caregiving services, and was most recently employed at The View handling activities.

In the fall of 2023, a non-profit was established in Deb’s name, Deb’s Circle of Friends. The group’s focus is the staff and patients of the CancerCare Center.

Deb’s most recent home was The View (her second family) where she spent the last 12 months of her life. She lived life strong and courageous. This wonderful, joyous, and caring person will surely be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Her loving family includes: husband of 31 years, children, Andrew (Sarah) Remmers and daughter, Lexi, Wendy (Marc) Colon and son, Nico, daughter, Maya, Benjamin Helland; mother, Bobby (DeVine) Jensen-Hemish; father-in-law, Cliff Helland; brother, Chris (Kathy) Jensen; siblings-in-law, Candy (Dan) Shiflett, Paul (Tami) Helland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Jensen; mother-in-law, Kay (Bronner) Helland; grandparents, Robert and Harriet (Helland) DeVine, Robert and Gladys (McAtee) Jensen; step grandmother, Betty Kranz DeVine; stepdad, Leroy Hemish.

Everyone is encouraged to wear pink in honor of Deb to the funeral service.

Funeral: Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.

Following the funeral service a full lunch will be served.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND at 4:00 p.m.

Visitation: Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Deb’s Circle of Friends.
