Nancy Overton
July 19, 1945-Oct. 24, 2024
Kenmare
Nancy Overton, 79, Kenmare, ND, died Thursday, October 24, 2024 in a Minot hospital.
Nancy Curnell was born July 19, 1945, a daughter of Charles and Henrietta (Olson) Curnell, in Minot, ND. She was raised in Northgate, ND, until 1951, when the family moved to Kenmare, ND. Nancy attended Kenmare Public School, graduating in 1963.
On November 3, 1963, Nancy was united in marriage to Jerry Overton at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare, ND. They made their home in Kenmare, ND, until 1965, when they moved to the Petermann farm in Rockford Township, where they raised their family, and farmed.
Nancy was an active member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Nazareth Lutheran Ladies Circle, and the 39er’s Homemaker Club. She was an avid scrapbooker, competitive card/board game player, an excellent gardener, enjoyed cooking, working with crossword puzzles and spending time at the lake. Together Jerry and Nancy enjoyed attending Polka fests and traveled throughout the United States. Unafraid of hard work, Nancy was able to drive all the farm machinery and grain trucks. Very rarely did she miss a Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune game show, or a grandchild’s activity. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Nancy is survived by:
