Dr. Laura Keller DVM, 36, Minot, and Malta, MT, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in her parents’ home in Minot of natural causes.
Laura Marie Keller was born on October 3, 1987, a daughter of Ronald and Mary (Carlson) Keller in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 2006. She furthered her education by attending North Dakota State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Veterinary studies majoring in Zoology. Laura then attended Kansas State University, where she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2014.
Laura worked on her Equine Internship in Lexington, KY, for a year before moving to New Salem, ND, where she worked as a veterinarian. She moved to Shelby, MT, where she opened Open Sky Equine Veterinary Dentistry service. She faithfully traveled throughout Montana and North Dakota to assist with people’s Equine needs. She loved her work and visiting with her clients and shared stories of her work fondly.
She enjoyed attending rodeos, hunting, spending time in Glacier, MT, quizzing people with movie quotes and playing with her two rescued Pitbull dogs Mako and Jesse. Laura was dearly loved by Ty Weaver and his 2 daughters Savanah and Miley. Laura was a very proud aunt of her one-year-old niece Lainey, and loved spending as much time as possible with her. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all that knew her.
Laura is survived by: Parents: Ronald and Mary Keller; Siblings: Sarah (Evan) Kimball; Lee (DeAnna) Keller and their daughter Lainey; Maternal grandmother: Judy Carlson; significant other Tyler Weaver and his children Miley and Savannah; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Laura was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents August and Rose Keller, maternal grandfather Joe Carlson, and uncle James and an aunt Janice. She had many aunts, uncles and cousins that she was close to and had frequent snap chats, Facebook and calls as she traveled.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal as cremation has taken place, however, friends may sign a guest register Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 10 a.m., until service time at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Burial: Private burial will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe, ND.
