Briot Nehring
March 16, 1995-Sept. 24, 2024
Williston
Briot Lin Nehring came into this world 12:16 p.m., March 19, 1995, in Williston ND. He was born to Kelly Holter (Hurst) and Danny Nehring.
Briot was raised in Bowbells, ND, until he moved to Williston in 2013. He attended school in Kenmare, ND and Bowbells, ND. He loved his family, friends, anything with wheels, wrestling and football. His best early memories were spending time with his family and being at the racetrack.
The biggest joys in Briot’s life were the two little boys in it. Their names are Tripp and Petey. Briot was the hands on, fun Dad that every kid wants. They spent their time making memories and having adventures. It could be hanging at the skate park or getting a room to go swimming. People could often spot them having dinner at Lonnies. Briot’s goal was for them to never go without.
Briot was often the life of any gathering. He brought joy and spark into every conversation. He loved to make people laugh. His sense of humor and his fun and sarcastic nature, coupled with his ability to find humor in all situations, made him loved by most. Nothing was inappropriate in Briot’s world.
Briot had a golden heart and had a way of making others feel included and loved. He had a deep empathy and understanding for people that needed more. Briot was unapologetically himself and embraced others with compassion and acceptance. If you needed anything, a hug, a chat or a tow… even in the middle of the night. He was willing to listen or help.
Briot was focused on being the best version of himself. He worked hard and was excited when he passed his CDL. He was not afraid to get dirty or tear anything apart to try and fix it. It might not look the same when he was done, but it would work. He loved his family and made a point of showing up for them and making them a priority. At holidays and family sporting events you always knew he was there. You would hear him cheer across the gym. Him and his boys.
Briot is survived by his sons, Tripp and Petey; mother, Kelly Holter and stepfather Shannon Holter; father, Danny Nehring; sisters, Misty (Dave) Ulvog, Destiny (Jaden) Voth, Alexia Holter and Paityn Hass; brothers, Shane Nehring, Paul Holter and Lucas Holter; grand-parents, Curt and Angela Hurst; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Georgetta Goldsmith Hurst; paternal grandparents, Harold and Beatrice Nehring; and older brother, Shawn Nehring; and bonus grandparents, Duane and Ruth Holter.
Briot left this world on September 25, 2024, at 6:01 p.m., surrounded by people that loved him. For those that knew Briot, he was deeply loved, and for those that didn’t, you will never fully appreciate the loss the world has suffered.
