Pearl L. Golly-Eman, 99, Minot, died Friday, September 13, 2024, in a Minot hospital.
Pearl Lorraine Dring was born on July 15, 1925, a daughter of George and Madeline (Schniable) Dring in Brown Township, rural Velva, ND. She was raised and educated in the Velva area.
In 1941, Pearl was united in marriage to Howard Golly. They made their home in the Bergan, Velva, and Esmond areas until 1969 when they moved to Minot. Howard died in 1972. On Nov. 25, 1977, she was united in marriage to Melvin Eman, they made their home in Minot. Together they enjoyed traveling to Spain, Africa, Turkey, and spending time with family. Melvin died in 1993. The last 20 years she shared with her special friend Clifton Talley until his passing in 2022
Pearl was an excellent businesswoman. Over the years she owned/operated several businesses including Dakota Meats, Friendly Bar in Stanley, ND, Totten Trail, Minot Livestock, Golly’s Dairy-All, and Sunflower Realty. She also worked as a cook for the Bergan School, on the Olson Farm, and served as a 4-H leader. She was proud of her career as a realtor.
Pearl had a zest for life. She enjoyed dancing, playing practical jokes, laughing, playing Bingo and was an excellent seamstress, teaching her grandchildren to sew and cook from “scratch.” Pearl made many special memories with her family from wood working with son Kenny, working alongside son Norval in the real estate business, and traveling to South Dakota with her granddaughters and an occasional mudslides or pink squirrel with them.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Moose, Elk, and Eagle Lodges, the Sons of Norway and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and will be missed by all that knew her.

Son: Kenneth (Marlene) Golly; stepchildren: Gwen Eman, Dean (Julie) Eman, Marcus (Rebeccah) Eman, Daniel (Connie) Eman; grandchildren: Heather Golly, Heidi Sather, Lila Dean, Lisa Pond, step-grandchildren: Michael Palmer, Desiree Thomas Shows, Heide Thomas, Heather Thomas, Brianna Eman, Gracia Eman, Nikki Eman, Jamie Eman, Drew Eman, Erin Eman, Brett Eman, Andrea Eman, Leah Eman, Melissa Eman, Melissa Warren, Cheryl Hust, Conrad Hust; great-grandchildren Kalynn Pond, Brodie Pond and several others. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents George and Madeline Dring, husbands Howard Golly, Melvin Eman, Special Friend Clifton Talley, siblings Gertrude Gross, Elizabeth Horner, Cloa Wassen, Robert, James and Walter Dring, son Norval Golly, Stepchildren Carie, Todd, and Tim, and grandchildren Kyle Palmer and Heather Thomas.
Visitation: Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 18, 2024, a 1:00 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
Burial: Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 3:15 pm at the Velva Community Cemetery, Velva, ND
