Columbus
Marion Dalin, 90, Minot, formerly of Columbus, ND, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Marion was born on May 13, 1934, the daughter of Elton and Rainey Crosby, in McIntosh, SD. She was one of eight children. Her family moved to Glyndon, MN and later to Fargo, ND. Marion attended Interstate Business College, and after graduation, worked as a secretary. Marion had a desire to attend bible school, and enrolled in the Assembly of God College. While attending, she met Verlon Dalin. They were married on February 17, 1961, and celebrated 55 years together.
After they were married, Marion worked at Thorsrud Supply Company, in Minot. She also assisted Verlon with their construction company and rental businesses. Marion was also very active in their church in Minot. Verlon and Marion eventually purchased farmland around the Columbus area. For many years, they split their time between their businesses in Minot, and the farm, before moving full time to Columbus. Marion was then very active in their local church. After Verlon passed, Marion moved back to Minot. Most recently she was living at Somerset Court.
Marion and Verlon were blessed with two sons, Rollie and Roger.
Marion loved being a farmer, wife, and mother, and always put her family first. She enjoyed helping Verlon in the field doing whatever job was needed, from driving tractor and grain trucks to cultivating, picking rocks, or running the grain cart. In her spare time, Marion enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and studying her bible. Her hearts’ desire was praying that her family would know Jesus as their personal Savior. Marion was also very musical, playing the accordion and organ by ear. She also had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing.
Marion is survived by her loving sons, Rollie (Kimberly) Columbus, and Roger (Pamela Saba), Minot; four granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol (Marvin) Muff, Osage, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and six siblings.
