Alfred “Freddy” Grossman, 85, Minot, ND died Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at a Minot hospital. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Alfred Anton Grossman was born on December 13, 1938 in Harvey, ND. He was the son of August and Ann (Ludwig) Grossman. He grew up on the family farm north of Harvey and attended rural school there. Alfred was once married to Jean Wiedmeier and they had a son, Rodney. He worked as a lineman for Verendrye Electric in North Dakota. He later married Rosella Ziegler Grad on July 13, 1979, in Wells, Nevada. He continued working as a lineman at Wells Rural Electric in Utah and Northern Lights Inc. power company in Idaho. He retired in 2002 and he and Rosella moved to Minot.

Alfred was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge both in Minot. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing pinochle, and traveling in his motorhome. He would play pool almost daily at the Moose Lodge.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rosella; sons, Rodney of Wendover, Utah, Steve (Sylvia) Grad of Harvey, Jon (Nicole) Grad of Warroad, MN; daughters, Judy (Mark) Heilman of Harvey, ND, Janet (Larry) Sunderman of Austin, MN, Sandi (Wayne) Deede of Harvey, ND, Susan (Sam) Grad-Morassco of Anchorage, AL; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Albert and James; baby daughter Grossman; grandson Chase; great-grandson Taven.
