Rosemary was born in Rhame, ND, to Edward and Mary McKeown on October 13, 1931. She grew up the oldest of three children on their farm in Slope county and attended local country schools. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Miles City, MT and later St. Alexius School of Nursing in Bismarck, ND.

Rosemary was employed as a nurse in Bismarck when she met her beau, Leonard LaCroix. They were married on November 14th, 1964, and began their life together on the farm north of Rolette. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Tim and Janel. Relying on her faith in God, she was able to move forward with strength of character as a rock for the family after the loss of the love of her life, Leonard.

“Rosie” was known for her deep faith in Jesus, her love for her family and friends and the compassionate care she gave to others through her years as a nurse. Rosemary was also known to be a classy, proper, gentle, graceful woman. She enjoyed reading and had a sharp intellectual mind. She found joy in cooking, gardening, multiple crafts such as sewing, ceramics, crocheting and knitting and was a constant prayer warrior for her family, friends and community. Rosemary was active in the Rolette Altar Society, Homemakers Club and the Red Hat Ladies. She especially cherished the time she had with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and liked to visit with friends and family over video calls on her iPad.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Leonard LaCroix, her parents Ed and Mary McKeown and brother Lloyd McKeown.

She is survived by her children Tim (Fran) LaCroix and Janel (David) Agnes, grandchildren Kory (Alicia), David and Michael LaCroix, McKinley and Madison Agnes, great-grandchildren Armanda, Ames, Cecelia and Mara LaCroix, brother Lewis McKeown, many nieces and nephews and had an especially fond relationship with her niece Sharon Foss.

Arrangements were with the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
