Roger Pitts, 68, Minot, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, in his home.

Roger O. Pitts was born March 25, 1956, the son of Gilbert and Eunice (Barrett) Pitts, in Morris, Minnesota.

At 17 years of age, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served two four-year deployments in Korea. From there he served a six-year deployment in Germany. He completed his 20 years of service in Colorado Springs. Roger was very dedicated to his Army career, family, and country.

He married Joan Fiest of Minot in May of 1997. They made their home in Minot. Roger and Joan spent two years in Detroit Lakes, MN while Roger attended Tech College for small engine repair. They were blessed with two daughters, Eunice and Angela and four grandchildren, Kacidee, Bird, Silas, and Izabella. His grandchildren were the light of his life.

After retirement, Roger and Joan enjoyed many years of hunting together. As well as fishing in the Minnesota Lakes.

He was a member of the VFW, AMVETS, American Legion, and Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Morris, MN.

His loving family includes: wife of 27 years, children, Eunice Pitts, IN, and Angela Pitts Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Kacidee White, Maryland, Bird Pitts, Minneapolis, MN, Silas Pitts, Minneapolis, MN, and Izabella Pitts, Moorhead, MN; brothers, Gilbert (Sandy) Pitts, Wisconsin, Larry (Shirley) Pitts, Minnesota, Lester (Ellen) Pitts, Bird Island, MN, Ernest Pitts, Bird Island, MN; sister, Marilyn (Lyle) Miller, Alberta, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mable Gau; brothers, Samuel Pitts, and Robert Pitts.

Funeral: Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials: are preferred to the donor’s choice.
