Mary Lemere
July 21, 1949-Aug. 10, 2024
Minot
Mary Lemere, 75, Minot, died Saturday, August 10, 2024, in her home.
Mary Lillian Gourneau was born on July 21, 1949, in Belcourt, North Dakota. Here in Minot is where she met Floyd Lemere. If you ever had any doubt that soulmates existed, you could just look at Mary and Floyd and all that doubt would disappear. It was love at first sight, they got married on May 12, 1965. They went on to welcome four sons into the world.
Mary’s dedication to hard work and the special connection she had with animals makes it no surprise that they opened their own boarding kennel, Sterling Kennels, in 1984. It has been operated and owned by family ever since.
One of Mary’s favorite activities was celebrating the holidays. From Easter to Thanksgiving, Halloween to Christmas, you can expect that she went all out on decorations and festivities. Some of the best times the family had was when they were all gathered together on Christmas Eve at the family home.
Those who had the pleasure to meet Mary knew that she was full of love. Her smile was infectious, it was nearly impossible to be in a bad mood whenever she was around.
She is survived by her sons, Howard, Michael, Floyd and Daniel and from them, she was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by many loved ones who will hold her hand while they wait for us.
Visitation: Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
