Loreen Pederson, 88, Minot, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Edgewood Assisted Living, Minot, ND.

Loreen Rae Halgrimson was born on February 17, 1936, in Powers Lake, ND to Joseph Halgrimson and Alvina (Forsgren) Halgrimson of McGregor, ND. She was raised and graduated from McGregor High School, McGregor, ND.

On February 19, 1954, she married Donald Pederson, and they were blessed with three children, Candy (James) Reilly, Brian (Michelle Martin) Pederson, and Tracy (David) Dachs.

Loreen worked for Northland Sports in Minot, ND for many years. She enjoyed her lake time with family, traveling, especially to Florida, Hawaii and her favorite spot, the Mouth of White Earth River. She liked reading, sewing, cardmaking, and making homemade crafts. She also loved baking and spending time with her grandchildren, as well as playing cards and board games. She was the family historian always collecting news articles, photos, and documents associated with her relatives and creating scrapbooks for each family.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, Dave (Shana) Dachs, Jr., Helena, MT, Dereck (Rafa Medeiros) Ostdahl, Fargo, ND, Bradley (Alyssa) Pederson, Hawley, MN, Ashley (Mat) Sondag, Sawyer, ND, Rachel (Adam) Biwer, Wadell, AZ, and Brittany (Don) Zimmerman, Minot, ND; great-children, Evelyn and Daniel Dachs, Tayte, Liva and Sonny Sondag, Gwen and Mae Biwer, Evelyn and Owen Pederson, Zeke Zimmerman, and Rebecca Ostdahl; sister, Gail Haakenson; sisters-in law, Orabelle Pederson, Evelyn Pederson, Jan Halgrimson and Judy Halgrimson; brother-in-law, Lloyd Pederson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Pederson; parents, Joseph and Alvina Halgrimson, sister, Sharrell Quitt; brothers Darrell Halgrimson and Terry Halgrimson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Thelma Pederson; brothers-in-law, Joey Pederson, Allyn Dale Pederson and Larry Pederson, Lawrence Jorgensen, Elvin Quitt, and Gary Haakenson; and sisters-in-law, Harriett Pederson, Carole Pederson, and Karen Jorgensen.

The family would like to thank Edgewood and Caring Edge Hospice in Minot for their tender and loving care of Loreen.

Funeral: Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Eagle’s Wings Church, Minot.

Interment: A private family burial will take place at a later date at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, McGregor, ND.

Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, McGregor, ND.
