David Mosser, 76, Minot, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in his home.

David John Mosser was born on August 13, 1947, a son of Wendelin and Margaret (Elm) Mosser in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Sawyer, where he graduated from Sawyer High School in 1965.

On February 29, 1968, David enlisted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the M-14 Sharp Shooter. He was honorably discharged on February 18, 1970.

David was united in marriage to Marlene Schan on June 18, 1971 at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church of Minot. They continued to make their home in Minot, and from this union four sons and one daughter were born. David worked as a meat cutter throughout his lifetime. He began his career at Barlows, before transferring to Cloverdale Foods, until his retirement in 2010. Finding retirement was not for him, he began working at The Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch until 2016, where he worked in dietary. Marlene died November 27, 2016. He continued to live in Minot.

He was a lifetime member of the Minot Moose Lodge, serving as Governor from 1987-1988, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and a former member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church of Minot.

He enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s sporting events and concerts, dancing, listening to polka and waltz music, playing horseshoes, darts, pool, Pinochle, Whist with Marlene, and enjoying a cold one with the best of them. He knew how to enjoy life and those around him.

David enjoyed traveling with Marlene and friends to Hawaii, Alaska, California, Florida, and South Dakota. David was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Surviving family includes: sons, Troy (Michelle) Mosser, Kevin (Peggy) Mosser, Jason (Darla) Mosser and Brian (Julie) Mosser; daughter, Amanda (David) Forman; grandchildren, Brianna Wollan, Tanner Mosser, Alexis Mosser, Kiara Mosser, Mason Mosser, Natalie Mosser, Jocelyn Mosser, Mariah Mosser, Landon Forman, Alyvia Forman, and Sayler Forman.; Brothers: Bill (Susan) Mosser, John (Linda) Mosser, and Robert (Susan) Mosser; sisters, Theresa (Gary) Deibert, Bernadette (Tom) Gibson, and Carolyn (David) Bischof; in-laws, Patrick Schan, Mary Streifel, Brenda Mosser; and a former daughter-in-law Rebecca Mosser; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. David was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 45 years Marlene, five grandchildren, Madison Mosser (Troy’s daughter), three infant girls and an infant son (all of Brian’s), brothers: Donald Mosser, Albert Mosser, Edward Mosser and brother-in-law Joe Schan and Sebastian Schan.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, May 17, 2024 at, 10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot
