Clifford ‘Cliff’ Fredrick, 96, Minot, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Trinity Hospital.

Clifford was born August 12, 1927, in Park Falls, Wisconsin, the son of Albert and Minnie (Knuth) Fredrick. He was raised and educated near Augusta, Wisconsin. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1945.

Cliff enlisted into the US Navy on February 20, 1945, and served honorably until his discharge on August 3, 1946. Following his military service, he returned to Wisconsin and attended school for machining.

After schooling, Cliff moved to Minot and worked in the machining industry first with Northern Machine for a year and later Terhorst Manufacturing for a couple more years. He was united in marriage to Edna Arneson on July 23, 1950,in Ryder, ND. They made their home in Minot and were blessed with four children.

Cliff found his niche in retail working as a manager for NorthWest Sporting Goods for six years until joining Dakota Drug 1960. He spent the next three decades of his life working at Dakota Drug, where he managed the giftware department, traveling extensively as a giftware buyer. He retired in 1990.

Cliff was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served on the council. He also belonged to the Elks, Eagles, Moose, and American Legion, all of Minot. He was a woodworker, who took immense pride in making crosses for Christ Lutheran Church’s Spring Bazaar. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, time spent traveling and billiards. Cliff will be remembered for his sense of humor, ability to teach himself anything, including German, and his skills in photography and woodworking.

Cliff is survived by his children, Daniel Fredrick, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brenda Peterson (Mike Tlustos), Forestburg, SD, Julie (Dick) Pross, Fargo, ND, and Mark Fredrick, Northfield, MN; grandchildren, Aimee Wesely, Tiffany (Jeff) Erdall, Sasha (Tom) Courtade, Alicia (Steve) Schaefer, Travis Fredrick, Jena Fredrick; great-grandchildren, Madison Kellogg (Phil), Reily Wesely, Gabriell Walter, Benjamin Erdall, Hallie Erdall, James Reese, Camille Courtade great-great grandchildren Michael Angell, Samuel Kellogg, Koraline Kellogg and Olivia Kellogg, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, wife Edna in 2016, sister Valeria Gessner and her husband Martin.

Memorial Service: Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. A livestream of the service can be viewed by going to https://www.christlutheranminot.org/church-online/.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.

Visitation: Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.
