Mary Jane “Charlie” Holen, the daughter of Morris and Cecelia (Rassier) Holen was born on July 14, 1956 in Rugby, North Dakota. She died at the age of 66 years surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 28th at the SMP Health St. Andrews Hospital in Bottineau, North Dakota.
Mary graduated from Upham High School in 1974, after graduation, she started working in the family business and later became a shareholder in Morris Holen Sons and Daughters Construction.
Mary is survived by her brothers, Morris Jr. (Colleen) of Bottineau and Roger (Jackie) of Upham; her sister, Brenda (Jim) Kuhnhenn of Bantry; six nephews and nieces, Travis, Dustin, Kristi, Sarah, Nicole and Laura; 16 great nieces and nephews; 3 great-great nieces; aunts, uncles, cousins; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Curt Broe and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials made in Mary’s honor and memory to St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Trinity Cancer Care Center in Minot, St. Andrew’s Hospital Foundation or the organization of your choice.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7th at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Towner with burial in the spring in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary and vigil prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Towner. Visitation will continue on Tuesday for one hour prior to the time of services at the church.
