Carol A. Clark

Aug. 1, 1947-Feb. 11, 2023

Minot

Carol A. Clark, 75, Minot, died Saturday, February 11, 2023, in a Minot hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born August 1, 1947, in Duluth, MN to Leo and Margaret (Gidbout) Baron. She spent the years of her youth in Duluth, East Grand Forks, MN and Minot, where she graduated from Minot Model High School in 1965.

Carol was united in marriage to Donald Clark in Idaho on September 20, 1965. They moved to Germany after Don was drafted and stationed with the US Army. Carol worked at a ONE-Hour Martinizing for a short time.

They returned to Minot following his discharge and moved to a farm located northeast of Minot in McKinley Township of Ward County in 1968. Together, they ran a dairy operation for nearly thirty years and sold milk to Bridgeman Creamery. No job on the farm was too big for Carol, she did it all, even driving silage truck! They also owned and operated the Rebel One Stop on the north end of Minot for many years. It was the only independently family owned gas station. In 2012, after Don’s first stroke, they sold the business. Don passed away in 2016.

Carol attended St. Leo’s Catholic Church prior to getting married. She spent some time playing softball and later enjoyed many hours at Lake Audubon fishing and camping with family and friends during the summer months. Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed a good puzzle. Entertaining and cooking for family and friends were always on the top of her list. She enjoyed baking cookies to share with her grandchildren in addition to the snacks she always seemed to have ready when they visited.

She will be missed most for hosting holiday meals with family and her example as a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

Carol is survived by her children Kimberly (Paul) Burns, Minot, Wayde (fiancee Michele Johnson) Clark, Minot and Kristie (Brian) Michels, Mohall, ND; grandchildren Autumn Burns, Alan Michels, Matthew Michels, Luke Michels and Anthony Michels and special friends Duane Larson and Barney Bradley.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, grandson Joseph Michels and brother Monty Southerland.
