Christopher Brewer—-41, Velva, died Sunday, January 22, 2023 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Velva, ND.

Christopher John Brewer was born on May 4, 1981, a son of Donald Jonathan and Annette (Klein) Brewer in Dallas, TX. He was raised in Texas, South Dakota, Washington, and the family settled in North Dakota, where he graduated from Velva High School in 1999.

On September 21, 2002, Christopher was united in marriage to Erica Jaeger. They made their home in Minot, and Fargo, before moving to Velva in 2009. Together they had two children, Hope and Tristan.

In the fall of 2005, Christopher enlisted into the Air National Guard in Fargo, serving as a Happy Hooligan. He has proudly served his country for the past 17 years, recently acquiring the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

He had a zest for learning, and decided to earn his degree in education. In 2020, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education and began teaching at Bishop Ryan High School. A man who walked in faith, he saw an opportunity to let God work through him in bringing students closer to Jesus every day. In his classroom and on the court, he pushed them, he challenged them and he loved them.

He enjoyed all types of competition, whether it was volleyball, basketball, or a board game. More than anything he loved spending time with his wife and children. Christopher was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe.

He is survived by:

Wife of 20 years, Erica; children: Hope (Fiancé Justin Zink) Brewer and Tristan Brewer; parents Jonathan and Annette Brewer: brother Joseph (Kayla) Brewer: grandmother-in-law Laura Mehlhoff; father and mother in-law: Jon (Debbie) Hansen, Mike Jaeger; sisters-in-law: Bridget Klosterman and Karley (Allen) Porter; nieces and nephews: Brianna, Nicholette, Landon, Catherine, Jonathan, and Michael Brewer; Ayden and Kealey Klosterman; Boaz Porter; several aunts, and uncles also survive.

Christopher was preceded in death by: grandparents Theodore and Mary Klein, Rosalee Schreiner, Wayne and Carol Hansen, Jerry and Euoline Brewer, Norman Mehlhoff and a nephew Isaiah Brewer.

Memorials are preferred to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe, ND, Bishop Ryan Catholic Schools, Minot, Till Valhalla Project, aiding Veterans.

Visitation: Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 5:30- until 7 pm at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe, ND

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday, at 7 pm in the church.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, January 27, 2023, at 10:30 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe. The service will be videotaped and uploaded to the link provided on Christopher’s web page at www.thompsonlarson.com
