Lori Moore

Lori DeAnn Picek Moore, 66, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 20, 2022, surrounded by family after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Minot, ND, Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Heath Trampe presiding. Per Lori’s request, all in attendance are asked to wear vibrant colors as we celebrate her life. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

She was born to Eileen and Donald Picek on November 14, 1955, in Minot, ND. She was raised in Stanley and Ross, ND, attending school in Stanley and Chamberlain, SD.

On June 24, 1972, she married Kelly Moore in Ross, ND at her parents’ home. They resided in Stanley until 1986, when they moved to Minot so she could attend Minot State University. She graduated with a BSE in Business Education and Elementary Education. Over the years, she worked for REM/Mentor, Minot Head Start, Oppen Home, Kay’s Place, and Dakota Transitional Living Home through North Central Human Services. In April 2018, Kelly and Lori moved to Bismarck where they resided until her death.

Lori enjoyed spending time with her husband of 50 years, her kids and grandchildren, and visiting with family and friends around the state. She also enjoyed visiting family in Arizona and traveling with Kelly. She loved to crochet, which had her making blankets and potholders for her family and others. She loved baking during holidays, playing cards and Scrabble, and spending time at various lakes in ND.

She had a very strong religious faith and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Minot and had been attending Surprise Church in Bismarck.

Lori is survived by, husband, Kelly Moore, daughters Michelle Earle, and Natalie Mock (Jeff), sons Brook/BJ Moore (Mandy), and Tyler Moore. Siblings: Kerry Picek (Pam), Lisa Weigel, Joey Meiers (Karlyn), Donald Picek, and Dennis Picek. Grandchildren: Shayla Moore, Otto, Kay, Karley, Shayann Mock, Austin Putney, Lane Moore, and grand-cat Oliver. Great-Grandchildren: Aiden, Jayda, Dion, Macie, and Kaiden, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: Mother, Eileen Aho Picek Meiers, Father, Donald Picek, Stepfather Wilfred Meiers. Grandparents Emil and Julia Aho, and father and mother-in-law Andy and Myrtle Moore.

Funeral arrangements are being made with DaWise-Perry/Mandan Crematory, Mandan, North Dakota.
