Dale Nordstrom

Dale Louis Nordstrom,

76, Minot, formerly of

Kenmare, died Saturday,

March 6, 2021 in a Minot

Hospital.

Dale was born April 1,

1944 in Kenmare, North

Dakota, the son of Louis

and Anna (Mortenson)

Nordstrom. He was raised

and educated at Kenmare

and graduated from Ken-

mare High School in

1962. He furthered his

education at the ND State

School of Science in

Wahpeton studying Auto

Body.

Dale enlisted in the

Army the fall of 1964,

where he was stationed at

Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He

proudly served until 1967.

Dale was married to

Jean Berg. To this union 3

children were born. On

January 12, 1985, he was

united in marriage to Bet-

ty (Hagen) Torgerson,

who brought 2 children

into their family. They

continued to make their

home in Kenmare until

2004, when they moved to

Minot.

Dale was employed by

Gartner’s Jack & Jill, Ken-

mare Laundry, RJ King

Trucking, Kenmare Imple-

ment, Laura’s Lanes, Ek-

lund Welding, and Cenex

parts, all in Kenmare. He

owned and managed Ken-

mare Farm Supply. He

trucked for Harvest States

and Jim Bohl of Bowbells.

In Minot, he worked for

Motor Service, Cenex, Ti-

tan Machinery, Northland

Bus and Kent Nelson

Trucking.

Dale was a member of

First Lutheran Church,

Minot, Nodak Race Club,

Minot Camera Club, Ken-

mare American Legion

Post, and volunteered

with the Kenmare Ambu-

lance for 22 years and

Kenmare Fire Department

for 35 years. He enjoyed

hunting, fishing, wood-

working, car racing and

traveling with Betty and

family. Dale was a long-

time volunteer for the No-

dak Speedway and was

recognized by the group

in 2017, when he was in-

ducted into their Hall of

Fame. His children and

grandchildren were his

pride and joy.

cludes, wife, Betty of

Minot; children, Kim

(John) Ramirez, Salado,

TX, Lori (Tim Mau) Du-

vall, Garrison, ND, Greg

Nordstrom, Jamestown,

ND; step children, Ronald

(Tangy) Torgerson, Fargo,

ND, & Kelly (Chris) Vig-

ness, Minot, ND; 10

grandchildren that in-

clude: Serena (Wyatt)

Zietz; Brock (Danielle)

Harris; Mia, Brandon and

Reece Nordstrom; Nolan,

Grady and Livi Torgerson;

McCoy and Sutton Vig-

ness. Three great

grandchildren to include:

Averie, Oaklie, and Reed

Zietz. Sisters Janet

(Charles) Leet, & Jean Ann

(Harvey Swallers) Eklund,

several nieces, nephews

and cousins. Mother-

in-law Millie Hagen.

Brother-in-law Don

Hagen. Sister-in-laws

Allie (Ron) Sagness, Cari

(Bill) Liebel, Kathy (Dar-

rell) Richter.

Dale was preceded in

death by his parents and

niece, Shelly Dorgan-

Gravos, brother in law,

Waine Eklund, and

father-in-law Henry

Hagen.

Celebration of Life ser-

vice: Thursday, March 11,

2021 at 10:00 a.m. in First

Lutheran Church, Minot.
