Monday, September 11,
2017 in a Minot hospital.
Melissa Ann Westlie
was born on February 10,
1972, a daughter of Robert
“Bob” and Kathryn
“Kathy” (Torgerson) West-
lie in Williston, ND. She
was raised and educated
in Williston, until the 7th
grade when the family
moved to Bismarck, ND.
She graduated from
Bismarck High School in
1990. Following her gra-
duation, she furthered her
education by attending
Minot State University
and also worked at Broad-
way News and Video.
On July 2, 1994, Melissa
was united in marriage to
Tracy Newbury at First
Lutheran Church in
Minot. They made their
home in Minot, where on
March 31, 1997, she be-
gan working for Minot
Plumbing and Heating.
She worked as an office
manager and later as a
partner in the firm.
Missy enjoyed spending
time in the outdoors
camping and around the
camp fires, riding her
Harley Davidson, and
working in her flower gar-
dens. She also enjoyed
scrapbooking, essential
oils and Christmas Time
“Tom and Jerry” batter.
She was a loving wife,
mom, daughter, sister and
friend and will be missed
by all that knew her.
Missy is survived
by:Husband of 23 years,
Tracy, Minot; daughter
Allyn, Minot; parents:
Bob and Kathy Westlie,
Minot; siblings: Randy
(Stephanie) Westlie,
Williston, Kristie (Darin)
Smith, Queen Creek, AZ;
father and mother-in-law:
George and Shirley New-
bury, Minot; brothers and
sisters-in-law: Tammy
(Bruce) Moffit, Fargo,
Todd (Heidi) Newbury,
Minot, and Tina New-
bury, Minot; 14 nieces
and nephews, and
numerous cousins also
survive.
Missy was preceded in
death by her paternal
grandparents Clarence
and Agnes Knudsvig and
maternal grandparents
Lawrence and Ileene
Torgerson.
Visitation: Sunday,
September 17, 2017 from
noon until 3 pm at
Thompson Larson Funeral
Home, Minot and from 4
until 5 pm at Christ Luth-
eran Church, Minot.

Church, Minot with a
motorcycle procession
ride following the service
