Melvin Aho

worth Aho, 80, Mohall,
died Monday, Feb. 29,
2016, at his home.
Melvin was born May
16, 1935, on a farm near
Belden, a son of Emil and
Julia (Alama) Aho. He was
raised in Stanley and bap-
tized and confirmed at
Belden Apostolic Luth-
eran Church, Belden. He
graduated from Stanley
High School in 1954. He
served several years in the
National Guard and was
on active duty at Fort Ri-
ley, Kan., during the Ber-
lin Crisis. He worked in
the construction business
with his brother, Harlan,
and later for Ronald
Wright in Mohall.
Melvin married Gloria
Feland June 21, 1959, at
Bethel Lutheran Brethren
Church, Antler. He
farmed and raised dairy
cattle in Wheaton and
Antler townships of Bot-
tineau County. They
moved to Mohall in 1967
and continued farming
and raising dairy cattle in
Sherman and Cut Bank
townships of Bottineau
County.
Melvin attended Bethel
Lutheran Brethren
Church, Antler, and was a
member of the Stanley
American Legion. He en-
joyed playing guitar and
loved planting apple trees.
He received an Honorary
Chapter Farmer Award
from the Mohall FFA.

Brian (Bonnie) Aho, Gran-
din, Byron Aho, Bennie
Aho and Burton Aho, all
of Mohall; eight grand-
children and four great-
grandchildren; sister, Ei-
leen Meiers, Stanley;
brother, Glen (Kathy)
Aho, Campbellsburg, Ky.;
and numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Melvin was preceded
in death by: his parents;
brothers, Edwin, Harlan
and Marvin Aho; and sis-
ters, Edna and Velma
Aho, Violet Ellvanger and
Marilyn Hopkins.
Funeral: 2 p.m., Satur-
day, March 5, at Bethel
Lutheran Brethren
Church, Antler.
Burial: Bethel Lutheran
Brethren Church Ceme-
tery, Antler.
Family Service: 7 p.m.,
Friday, March 4, at Brose
Funeral Home, Mohall.
Visitation: One hour
prior to the family service
at the funeral home.
