Willow City man injured in 2-vehicle crash

WILLOW CITY – An 87-year-old Willow City man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Eighth Avenue Northeast and 82nd Street Northeast, about 4 miles west of Willow City, on Monday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 9:42 a.m., when a Ford F-250 pickup driven by a 32-year-old man from Willow City was northbound on Eighth Avenue Northeast and failed to yield to a 2008 Ford Taurus driven by the 87-year-old man that was westbound on 82nd Street Northeast. The Taurus T-boned the Ford F-250. The Taurus came to rest in the intersection and the Ford F-250 came to rest in the north ditch.

The 32-year-old man and a 2-year-old passenger in the pickup were not injured. The 87-year-old man was transported to a Minot hospital with serious injuries.

All involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, according to the Highway Patrol. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
