Angela Peterson, a third-grade teacher at North Plains Elementary School, Minot Air Force Base, is the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ 2024-2025 state recipient of Teacher of the Year, advancing after wins at post and district levels, VFW Post 743 of Minot announced.

The post also announced its scholarship winners.

Piper Erickson is Voice of Democracy Audio contest first-place VFW Post winner. She is a senior at Minot High School-Magic City Campus.

Carmella McWilliams is Patriots Pen Essay contest first-place VFW Post winner and second-place VFW District winner. She is an eighth grader at Erik Ramstad Middle School, Minot.
