Texas fugitive arrested in Minot

Minot Police arrested a fugitive in Minot on Monday who is wanted in Tarrant County, Texas.

According to police information, officers were responding to an unrelated call for service in northwest Minot Monday afternoon. During that call, officers received information regarding a wanted fugitive identified as Delino Deshields Nelson, 32, Fort Worth, Texas.

Further investigation into the information revealed that Nelson was possibly staying at a hotel in northwest Minot. Officers confirmed through the National Crime Information Center that Nelson had a full extradition warrant issued by Tarrant County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The warrant stems from an incident in which Nelson is accused of shooting a female with a firearm.

Officers located Nelson at the Minot hotel and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Ward County Jail, where he is being held pending extradition to Texas.

Nelson appeared for an extradition hearing in North Central District Court Tuesday. Nelson previously was extradited in 2018, according to court records.

Starting at $2.99/week.
