Telehealth comes to Burke County veterans

BOWBELLS — The VA Fargo Health Care System, in partnership with the Burke County Veterans Service Office, has announced the grand opening of their new Accessing Telehealth through Local Area Stations (ATLAS) site on May 7 at the Burke County Veterans Service Office in Bowbells, 103 Main Street.

This innovative ATLAS site is a key component of the VA Anywhere to Anywhere telehealth initiative, designed to enhance access to care for veterans in Bowbells and the surrounding communities.

At this location, enrolled veterans will discover a welcoming, private space complete with internet access and state-of-the-art technology to connect with their VA providers using VA Video Connect, the VA’s secure and reliable videoconferencing application. An on-site attendant will assist with check-in and resolve any basic technical issues. The attendant is not a VA employees and will step away once the appointment begins, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.

Bowbells area veterans and their families are invited to the opening event from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. to meet with County Veterans Service Officer Jeff Whillock, explore the equipment and engage with telehealth experts.
