Local groups, organizations and families braved the cold morning on Saturday in support of the eighth annual Minot Walk for Autism.
The event was put on by Royal Therapy Services owned by Cassie Sheppard, a speech-language pathologist.
“Our goal with this event is to raise awareness but also to help break the stigma of autism” Sheppard said.
Many locals joined in to participate in the walk around Oak Park. The Minot Fire Department was there in support with its fire truck along with firefighters Charles Shoemaker and Damon Laks. A food truck, Son of a Brunch, and Too Dark Designs had food and T-shirts available.
“We are so thankful for all of the vendors and volunteers that help make this event possible each year.” Sheppard said.
