Mayoral candidate pledges fresh approach

Rob Fuller

Minot City Council member Rob Fuller, a Minot native and businessman, announced his candidacy for mayor Monday.

Fuller is entering the race with a clear mission – to bring common-sense leadership, integrity and a fresh, results-driven approach to City Hall, according to his official announcement.

“This city raised me. It gave me opportunities, values and a strong foundation for everything I’ve done,” Fuller said. “Now it’s my turn to give back, and to help move Minot forward with transparency, accountability and a long-term vision that puts our community first.”

Running under the campaign slogan “A Fresh Start, A Stronger Minot,” Fuller said he is focused on shaking off the status quo and building a future that works for everyone, from longtime residents to new families and entrepreneurs planting roots.

Fuller said his platform will focus on strong support for local businesses and entrepreneurs, streamlining city operations and reducing wasteful spending, infrastructure improvements that prioritize long-term impact and listening to the community to ensure people are and feel heard.

Fuller’s professional background includes more than two decades in banking and finance. He also was the founder and operator of Spartan Firearms. Fuller said his career was built on trust, community engagement, straight talk and hard work ,and he wants to bring those attributes, as well as a problem-solving mindset, to the office of mayor.

“I’m not a career politician, and I think that’s exactly what Minot needs right now,” Fuller said. “We need leadership that listens, that understands small business and the people’s needs and that respects the hard-earned tax dollars of our citizens.”

A 1991 graduate of Bishop Ryan and an alumnus of the University of North Dakota, Fuller returned to Minot in 2012 to invest in his home community and raise his family. He and his wife, Katie, have two sons.

“This is our home. I’m committed to making Minot a place where our kids want to stay, build careers and raise their families too,” Fuller said.
