Students from Minot High School and Minot North High School attended the State Future Business Leaders of America Conference in Bismarck on March 30 and April 1.

FBLA is a professional organization for students interested in pursuing business careers, whose mission is to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.

The students joined 1,3000 other middle and high school FBLA students from 60 other FBLA chapters from across the state, and attended workshops and engaged in other leadership opportunities.

The students also tested their business skills in the competitive events program in a variety of individual, team and chapter events. The events varied from accounting, computer applications, public speaking, job interview, website design or business ethics.

Of the 41 Minot High School students who attended the conference, 26 placed and 14 qualified to attend the national convention this summer in Anaheim, California. The Minot North Chapter Vice President Emiline Acquah took first place in Digital Video Production, and Chapter President Codey Irwin was re-elected as the North Dakota State FBLA secretary.
