A dog-friendly 5K run/walk for humans and a Weiner Dog Derby featuring racing Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes will be held Saturday, May 17, to raise awareness and benefit animal shelters and rescues in the Minot area.

The Hair of the Dog event will be held in conjunction with other fun activities taking place at Atypical Brewery and Barrelworks in Minot, beginning at 10 a.m. Those wishing to help financially sponsor the fundraiser or need information on signing up to participate should contact Run with Heart and Sole at runwithheartandsolend@gmail.com.

Proceeds from the event will be shared by For Belle’s Sake Rescue, Animal Empowerment League and Hairball Haven Feline Rescue.
