Charles Crane/MDN A body was recovered from the Souris River in Minot on Monday afternoon.

The Minot Police Department reported the body of a deceased male was recovered from the Souris River on Monday.

According to a news release, Minot Police responded to a report about 2:50 p.m. of a deceased male located in the Souris River just west of the Broadway viaduct, near the 200 block of First Avenue Northwest. The individual was discovered by several people who had been fishing in the area.

The Minot Fire Department recovered the body from the river. There were no obvious signs of trauma, according to the release. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
