Allegiant suspends Florida route from Minot

Allegiant is suspending its flights between Minot and Florida until November, according to Minot International Airport.
Allegiant did not respond to requests for information, but Minot Airport Director Jennifer Eckman said seasonal demand can be a consideration, noting Allegiant had temporarily halted flights to Phoenix-Mesa last summer.
The airport’s quarterly report, produced with consultant SEH, showed the Minot to Florida route was underperforming the average in revenue per available seat mile.
It also found Allegiant’s load factors, related to the percentage of seats filled, were relatively low compared to system averages on both the Arizona and Florida flights. Those routes have seen quarterly load factors as high as 89-91% in 2024 but also percentages in the 60s and 70s, which the report noted made pulldowns by the airline not surprising.
Separately, Eckman said the airport is seeing increased interest in flights to Texas, which is useful information in attempting to recruit additional service to Minot.
