Young Makoti artist among Eagles contest winners

Levana Fransen of Makoti placed first in the third grade division of the Eagles’ annual Children’s Art Contest for grades 3-6, according to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

By igniting the creative process while teaching the core values and beliefs of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, the organization aims to help build future generations of People Helping People.

The 2025 Children’s Art Contest received hundreds of entries from across the United States. and Canada. Third grader Violet Cherney, sponsored by Papillion, Nebraska #4029, received the grand prize of $500. Individual first place winners will receive $200 each, with second place winners receiving $100, third place winners $75 and fourth place winners $50.

Levana, the daughter of David and Laura Fransen, was sponsored by the Watford City Eagles #3543. She learned about the contest from her grandparents, William and Karen Rafferty of Watford City.

Also among national winners were Maggie Miller, second in the third grade division, Brynley Eken, second in the fourth grade division, and Ellie Blair, second in the fifth grade division, all sponsored by the Fargo Eagles #153.
