Ward County 4-H members successful at archery match

Ward County had an impressive turnout at the Morton County Indoor 4-H Archery Match on March 1, with 32 archers participating.

Indoor archery matches are organized by age and bow type: beginners (8 to 10 years), juniors (11 to 13), and seniors (14 to 18) and a masters division for those 14 and older who qualified for a national contest. Bow divisions are Barebow, which uses no sights or releases, and Freestyle, which allows for sights or releases.

Results of the match for Ward County participants are as follows:

Senior Freestyle Division: Teagan Strilcov, Minot, placed ninth with a score of 287. Also competing were Brooklyn Bloms, Carpio; Faith Carpenter, Granville; Breanna Mindt, Madison Privratsky, Gage Schenfisch and Cole Whitcher, all of Minot; Stetson Brandvold, Ryder; and Tyson Barden, Surrey. The team of Barden, Brandvold, Mindt and Strilcov placed fifth with a combined score of 820.

Senior Barebow Division: Raegan Albert, Garrison, placed sixth with a score of 271. Also competing were Abrielle Michel and Elizabeth Michel, both of Berthold; Rebecca Tetrault, Bowbells; and Clara Potts, Minot. The team of Albert, E. Michel, Potts and Tetrault placed third with a combined score of 788.

Junior Freestyle Division: Tyson Perdue, Minot, placed ninth with a score of 145. Also competing were Heston Seifert, Burlington; Tatum Ehli, Grady Mostad, Rachel Privratsky, Cason Schenfisch, Hunter Schultz and Hadley Yoder, all of Minot; and Blake Guritz and Tabitha Hauge, both Surrey. The team of Perdue, Seifert, Mostad and Hauge placed fifth with a combined score of 416.

Junior Barebow Division: Taryn Albert, Garrison, represented Ward County.

Beginner Freestyle Division: Owen Peterson, Minot, placed third with a score of 146. Kelbie Yoder, Minot, placed 10th with a score of 128. Also competing were Claire Babinchak, Carpio, and Lillian Privratzky, Minot. The team of Babinchak, Peterson, Privratzky and Yoder placed third with a combined score of 347.

Beginner Barebow Division: Finnley Neshem, Burlington, placed eighth with a score of 216. Also competing were Livvy Michel, Berthold; Parker Murphy, Carpio; and Hope Anderson, Minot. The team of Anderson, Murphy, Neshem and Michel placed fourth with a combined score of 554.
