Local cardiology team adds heart surgeons

Four board-certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons have joined the cardiology team at Trinity Health in Minot.
Trinity has announced the additions of Drs. Peter Mikhail, A. Hadi Hakki, Sean Russell and Sorin Pusca.
Mikhail brings more than two decades of experience to Trinity Health. He has held several leadership positions, including chair of the Cancer Committee at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck. He is a contributor to clinical trials, medical literature and has held academic appointments at the University of Florida and the University of North Dakota.
Hakki brings more than 30 years of experience and specialized training from institutions in the United States and United Kingdom. Hakki is a senior member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery and author of “Ideal Cardiac Pacing,” which is referenced for the Board of Electrophysiology and Pacemakers.
Sean Russell, a Minot native, has more than 25 years of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery practice experience in Bismarck and serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of North Dakota. Russell is affiliated with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgeons and the Michael E. DeBakey Surgical Society.

Pusca provided care at one of the busiest cardiothoracic surgery private practices in Texas. He holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
