Federal pandemic-era funding ends early

BISMARCK – North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) received notice Monday that federal pandemic-era grant funding supporting behavioral health services will end effective immediately, ahead of its scheduled Sept. 30 expiration date.

HHS has notified providers who may be affected and is assessing impacts while working to ensure service continuity. The agency is evaluating funding options and collaborating with other state agencies, organizations and private partners to address priority areas, including behavioral health, public health initiatives and support services. HHS will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

North Dakotans in need of behavioral health services should continue to reach out for support:

– 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 or chat 988 lifeline.org

– In-person support: Mobile crisis teams statewide, accessible via 988 or 911

– Specialty care: CARES Crisis Response for individuals with developmental disabilities, accessed via 988

– Crisis stabilization: Short-term residential and walk-in services available in Fargo, Bismarck, Minot, Williston and Jamestown. Contact your regional Human Service Center for assistance.
