Drivers charged in crash south of Minot
The North Dakota Highway Patrol has announced charges in connection to an injury crash south of Minot on Friday.
According to Highway Patrol information, Ian Lindgren, 20, Farmington, Minn., was driving a 2019 Ford Econoline at 7:17 a.m. on Friday when he failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Highway 83 and N.D. Highway 23. The Econoline collided with a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup pulling a trailer with horses driven by Jessica Gjovig, 34, Fortuna. Gjovig sustained minor injuries and was transported to a Minot hospital. Two horses in the trailer died at the scene and third was transported.
Lindgren was charged with interstate driver not 21 years of age, no valid medical card, logbook not current, operating without proper operating authority, driving in violation of 14-hour rule, and a moving violation for failure to yield right of way at an intersection marked with a stop sign.
Gjovig was charged with driving without a license.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
