WSC offers par value tuition to attract Canadians
WILLISTON – Williston State College has announced the launch of its Canadian Par Value Initiative, a new program designed to attract Canadian students with tuition savings while maintaining the integrity of WSC’s existing scholarship program. Through this initiative, Canadian students enrolling full-time in certificate or degree programs can access a “Presidential Waiver” that reduces tuition costs by up to 35%, based on the annual CAD/USD exchange rate.
“This initiative is an innovative way to bring in students from across the border while ensuring our scholarship funds remain fully dedicated to supporting local and regional students,” said Dr. Bernell Hirning, president of WSC. “The waiver applies to tuition only and does not detract from scholarships or other financial aid resources.”
By attracting Canadian students, WSC helps grow the regional talent pool, addressing workforce shortages in industries like healthcare, technology and agriculture, the college stated in a news release. The initiative also builds on the connections between Williston and its Canadian neighbors, fostering cross-border collaboration and economic growth.
