Wahpeton woman to be inducted into Aviation Hall of Fame
BISMARCK – The North Dakota Aviation Hall of Fame committee announces Cindy Schreiber-Beck, of Wahpeton, has been selected as the 50th inductee into the Hall of Fame.
The honor recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth, development and promotion of aviation in North Dakota.
According to N.D. Aviation Hall of Fame information, the induction banquet ceremony will take place Tuesday, March 4, at the Delta Hotel in Fargo during the annual “Fly North Dakota” Conference.
Schreiber-Beck, originally from Foxhome, Minnesota, together with her husband, Gerry Beck, operated Tri-State Aviation in Wahpeton. After his death in 2007, she continued to operate the company and in 2017 transitioned the company to its new ownership.
For nearly four decades, Schreiber-Beck has volunteered as executive director of the North Dakota Agricultural Aviation Association. For 25 years, she served as a commissioner on the N.D. Aeronautics Commission. In 2013, she was also a member of the Governor’s Task Force that advocated for, and established North Dakota as one of the nation’s Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) test sites.
Beginning in 2015, she was elected to the N.D. House of Representatives and serves on the Education and Agriculture Committees. Her legislative work supports initiatives tied to aviation, innovation, agriculture and education.
